iCEBDA-2025 took place in IstanbuliCEBDA-2025 прошла в Стамбуле

From September 11 to 14, 2025, the International Conference on Econometrics and Big Data Analysis (iCEBDA-2025) was held at the santralistanbul campus of Bilgi University in Istanbul. The conference was organized by HSE University (Centre for Big Data in Economics and Finance), with the support of the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye.

The highlight of the program was a series of plenary lectures by leading global scientists. Nobel Laureate Guido Imbens (Stanford Graduate School of Business) delivered a presentation on new horizons in causal analysis, while Professor Tommaso Proietti (University of Rome “Tor Vergata”) gave a lecture on modern nowcasting methods and state-space models.

Over the four days, participants presented more than 50 research papers in parallel sessions. The topics covered a wide range of fields, including labour and education microeconometrics, analysis of cryptocurrency and commodity markets, high-frequency financial data, causal inference methods, forecasting, as well as issues of regional economics and urban development.

Special attention was paid to young researchers: a student competition held on Friday brought together promising scholars from various countries. The informal part of the program featured a conference dinner and a tour of Istanbul, allowing participants to strengthen academic ties in a friendly atmosphere.

The conference brought together researchers and practitioners from Türkiye, the USA, Italy, Russia, and other countries, reaffirming its status as a prestigious international platform for discussing modern challenges in econometrics and data analysis.

The organizing committee noted that iCEBDA-2025 served as a space for exchanging ideas, where methodological innovations in machine learning and statistics meet real-world economic challenges—from financial markets to regional development.
