Seminar "Economists on the 1917 Revolution"

Andrey Belykh (RANEPA) presented the book "Economists on the 1917 Revolution" on October 27, 2022.

Abstract:

The Russian Revolution of 1917 and its consequences largely determined the development of the entire world in the 20th century. Historians, economists, political scientists, and sociologists have argued and continue to argue about its causes, character, time limits, and consequences. This book includes a collection of papers that present assessments of the economic factors and consequences of the revolution by both economists who lived at that time and modern researchers. The work analyses the revolution as a single process that began in February 1917 and continued until the victory of the Bolsheviks in the Civil War. The entire palette of opinions on the revolution is presented: the collection includes works by both the Bolsheviks and their critics, from anarchists to monarchists.
