What Sports Economists Do?

HSE Mathematics Department conducts a series of research seminars on research in math and economics of sports. Three seminars in the series will be held in Russian, and one - in English. The series takes place in Moscow, at Shabolovka and Myastnitskaya campus of HSE from 21 September to 12 October, 2017

Annotation: This talk is an informal introduction to the variety of activities and topics that sports economists are involved. The presentation will include discussion of seminal articles in sports economics focused on professional baseball in the United States as well as recent and current issues to which sports economists have applied their skills, such as doping and the impact of hosting the Olympics or the World Cup.
