From October 30 to November 4, 2025, Dr. Dmitry A. Veselov, Associate Professor in the Department of Theoretical Economics and Deputy Dean for Research at the Faculty of Economic Sciences (FES), visited India. The trip served as a return visit following the April 2025 visit of Professor Abhirup Mukhopadhyay to the HSE University Moscow campus.

Dr. Veselov presented his paper “Lobbying for Industrialization: Theory and Evidence” (joint with Alexander Yarkin) at a regular research seminar hosted by the Economics and Planning Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) in Delhi. During his visit, Dr. Veselov met with leading professors to discuss potential research collaboration and the development of international cooperation between ISI and FES.

Also, Dr. Veselov delivered a presentation at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT Delhi). This university, founded in 2008, specializes in studying various aspects of the creation and development of information technologies and their impact on socio-economic activity. Colleagues at IIIT Delhi expressed strong interest in establishing bilateral cooperation with FES, including academic exchange programs for students and faculty.

The visit successfully strengthened scientific ties and opened new prospects for academic exchange between FES and leading Indian research centers.
