Olga Demidova participated in the SEA 2025 conference
The Head of the research laboratory for spatial econometric modeling of socio-economic processes in Russia, Olga Demidova participated in the 19th World Conference of the Spatial Econometrics Association (SEA 2025), held in Rabat, Morocco, from May 4th to 6th.

Olga presented a paper «Spatial econometric analysis of municipal elections in Russia in 2021-2022» and recieved insightful comments from the discussant Prof. Francesco Vidoli (University of Urbino, Italy) and other participants of the sesion «Local government».
The keynote speakers at the conference were
- Prof. Badi H. Baltagi (Distinguished Professor of Economics, Syracuse University, USA, presentation «Spatial Effects of Higher Education Expansion on Fertility: Evidence from Turkey»),
- Prof. M. Hashem Pesaran (Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Economics at University of Southern California, Emeritus Professor of Economics, Cambridge University, and Trinity College, Cambridge, presentation «Estimation and Inference in Multivariate Spatiotemporal Models with Common Latent Factors: An Application to Simultaneous Determination of House Prices, Incomes, and Population Flows Across Geographical Areas»).
Interesting presentations and lively discussions once again confirmed that spatial econometrics is one of the most rapidly developing fields of econometrics, which enables proposals for economic policies at the regional level, which is highly relevant for such a large and regionally heterogeneous country as Russia.
