Alina Urazbaeva Participates in GSEM UrFU Spring Science Days
On April 17, 2026, Alina Urazbaeva, Research Assistant at the Laboratory for Spatial Econometric Modeling of Socio-Economic Processes in Russia, presented at the International Scientific Conference "Spring Science Days — 2026," organized by the Graduate School of Economics and Management (GSEM UrFU).

At the session "State Support for Economic and Spatial Development," she delivered a report entitled "The Impact of Government Support on SME Establishment under Sanctions."
The study, based on an analysis of over three million instances of support provided to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), yielded the following key results:
-
Cross-correlation analysis revealed that the strongest link between government support and the creation of new firms emerges with a lag of two to four months, after which it weakens.
-
Regression analysis using fixed-effects models showed that both financial and advisory support have the most pronounced positive effect in regions with a medium level of sanctions risk.
-
In high-risk regions, a significant effect from financial support appears after two months, and from advisory support — after four months.
-
For low-risk regions, no significant effects were found.
Based on these findings, Alina Urazbaeva proposed practical recommendations to stimulate SME growth and facilitate the transition of companies to higher categories.
