Anastasia Kolupaeva and Ekaterina Lodneva Presented at IFORS 2026

One of the leading conferences in operational research took place in Vienna on July 12–17, 2026. Two papers in the 'Operational Research in Sports' session were presented by research assistants from the Laboratory of Sports Studies.

Anastasia Kolupaeva presented the paper 'Anomalies Detection in Figure Skating Refereeing'. Co-authored with Dmitry Dagaev, Yaromir Kazakov, and Frantsuaza Li, the paper focuses on a methodology for detecting anomalies in the scores given by individual judges at figure skating competitions.

Ekaterina Lodneva presented the paper 'Risky Behavior in Professional Volleyball'. In this paper, co-authored with Dmitry Dagaev and Elina Ibragimova, the authors examine risk attitudes among professional volleyball players who competed at the 2024 Olympics. The paper focuses primarily on how changing match conditions affect players' choice of risky strategies.
