Аннотация доклада:

Two-Sided Matching Theory in economics took off from the seminal article by Gale and Shapley “College Admisions and the Stability of Marriage” (1962) which was truly motivated by student university matching. In practise, such matching occurs in entirely decentralized fashion as in the U.S: or through centralized procedures as in Turkey, China. Owing mainly to the work of Alvin Roth and his collaborators, there is now a large and growing literature on the theoretical merits as well as actual workings of centralized matching institutions including particularly the celebrated doctors-hospitals matching in the U.S. . In this talk, I will give an account of the theory and practise. I will then focus on a dimension whereby centralized matching affects pre-university education adversely, suggest a direction for remedy, and point out the challenges involved.
