On August 26-28, the 10th International Conference ‘Applying Multivariate Statistical Analysis to Economics and Quality Assessment’ was held by the Higher School of Economics at the university’s building on Shabolovka Street in Moscow. The event was organized alongside the Central Economics and Mathematics Institute (CEMI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Moscow School of Economics, which is part of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
The conference takes place every four years and has a solid history. The first forum was established in southern Estonia in 1977 by an initiative of A.N. Kolmogorov. Three subsequent conferences were held there, after which the event was moved to Moscow.
This year the plenary and panel sessions will see leading Russian and foreign scholars present papers on the theory and methodology of applied multivariate statistical analysis and economic modeling, as well as on the use of multivariate statistical analysis and econometrics in economics, demography, ecology, health, and financial and actuarial work, and on the problems that exist in industry and management.
The conference had 103 participants from different cities of Russia, the CIS, and non-CIS countries.
