The laboratory was established to conduct theoretical research, advance measurement methodology, carry out regular calculations, and disseminate the results.

Research interns from among students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in working with large disaggregated datasets, including household survey microdata. They also learn weighting algorithms used to obtain more reliable estimates for population characteristics. Students actively participate in academic life by presenting their research results at seminars and conferences.
