Состоялось очередное заседание научного семинара "Политическая экономика"

Докладчик:   Alexei Zakharov (HSE), Todd Kaplan (Exeter University)
Tема: "Candidate uncertainty and electoral equilibrium: an experimental study "Abstract:
Anecdotal evidence suggests that the the payoffs of political parties or individual politicians need not be winner-take-all with respect to the number of votes received. Winning by a very large margin may bestow special priveleges, and there may be consolation prizes to narrow losers as well. Previous theoretical work by one of the authors suggests that the value of winning the election by a very wide margin relative to the value of just winning may affect the choice of candidate policy platforms - in particular, if there are extra benefits from a large-margin victory, each candidate will position closer to her opponent's partisan voters. We report on a laboratory experiment that tests and confirms this hypothesis.

Заседание состоялось 28.09.2013 в  18.15   по адресу: г. Москва, улица Шаболовка, дом 26, корпус 4, аудитория   4322.
