Research project seminars
Project work of FES students is carried out in the form of research project seminars. Projects bring together undergraduate and graduate students from different years of study working on similar topics (for more details, see https://economics.hse.ru/en/pro_fes/).
Research project seminar 'Methods of Linear Algebra and Data Analysis in Economics' (2025-2026 academic year)
Leader: Dmitry Shirokov
Co-leader: Ekaterina Filimoshina
The practice-oriented project seminar is dedicated to the applications of modern methods of linear algebra, data analysis, and visualization for solving current economic problems. The seminar includes two main research areas: 1) application of linear algebra methods – matrix decompositions, fast computation of eigenvalues and eigenvectors, solving large systems of linear equations; 2) use of machine learning algorithms – classification, regression, clustering, and neural network models.
