The theme of this year’s HSE graduation party, which was held at Moscow’s Izvestia Hall, was ‘Bond’. Party-goers enjoyed espionage contests, British humor and, of course, plenty of music.
This year, 11 students and graduates of HSE's Faculty of Economic Sciences were admitted to PhD programmes at leading universities in the U.S. and Europe. Eight of them are undergraduates:
Elena Okorochenko graduated with a Bachelor’s from Moscow State University’s Faculty of Economics and received a Master’s in Economics (with honours) from HSE. Elena, who was in HSE’s very first class of students, started her career in risk management at Credit Suisse First Boston in Moscow. She currently serves as Managing Director, Head of Asia-Pacific Ratings at S&P Global Ratings. She is responsible for driving strategy, business growth, and managing regulatory, investor, and client relationships.
A Harry Potter-themed university graduation party has been held at HSE. This year, the party was completely organized by HSE students, they selected everything – from the location to the entertainment, and not only graduates, but also their friends and family were invited.
Anna Sokolova, who completed her PhD at the HSE Doctoral School of Economics and is an instructor in the Department of Theoretical Economics, has been offered a position as an Assistant Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, demonstrating the high demand for graduates of HSE doctoral programmes on the international academic job market.
