About the Department

The department is a joint project of HSE University and the Moscow Exchange (MOEX) that operates a unique multi-asset trading platform for stocks, bonds, derivatives, currency, money instruments, and goods.

For the last 14 years, the Faculty of Economic Sciences has been cooperating with MOEX by organising joint conferences on financial markets. MOEX workers have regularly participated in workshops on financial engineering and financial markets and institutions for master's students, and the department organises a workshop for bachelor's students on the Quick Junior trading system. Multiple MOEX departments have hired HSE students as interns. The Department of Financial Market Infrastructure was established in 2018. 

 

Goals of the Department of Financial Market Infrastructure:

• involving top specialists in education
• participating in the evaluation of new educational programmes, ensuring that new programmes meet current professional standards in finance
• expanding the use of Russian data by discussing particular cases and practice examples based on the experience of MOEX workers for both bachelor's- and master's-level courses

• creating and conducting multiple research projects for students of all levels (BSc, MSc)
• participating in the creation of applied programmes for non-economics students to give them the necessary skills for further business creation

Such collaboration helps combine the skills of academics and financial professionals, producing a synergetic effect that contributes to students’ knowledge.
