About the department

The Department is a joint project of Higher School of Economics (HSE) and Moscow Exchange (MOEX) that operates unique multi-asset trading platform at which stocks, bonds, derivatives, currency, money instruments and goods.

For the last 14 years, the Faculty of Economic Sciences has been cooperating with MOEX by organizing joint conferences on financial markets, MOEX workers have regularly participated in Financial Engineering and Financial Markets and Institutions workshops for Master's students. For bachelors, the deparment organizes a workshop on Quick Junior programme. Multiple MOEX departments have hired HSE students as interns. By the end of 2018, Department of Infrastructure of Financial Markets was established. 

 

Goals of the Infrastructure of Financial Markets Deparment:

• involve best specialists into education
• participate in evaluation of new educational programs, checking consistency of new programs to current professional standards in finance
• expand usage of Russian data by discussing particular cases and practice examples, that include experience of MOEX workers for both Bachelor and Master level courses

• create and conduct multiple research projects for students of all levels (BSc, MSc)
• participate in creation of applied programs for non-economic students that will give them necessary skills for further business creation

Such collaboration helps combine skills of academics and financial professionals that will result in a synergetic effect that will contribute students’ knowledge.
