The first meeting of the Centre for the History and Methodology of Economic Science

The main vectors of Centre's development were identified at the meeting.

On January 23, the first meeting of Centre for the History and Methodology of Economic Science was held. The meeting discussed the main projects of 2020 and 2021, opportunities for attracting students, as well as the publication activity of employees.

Following the meeting, it was decided to address a number of projects for activities within the centre as well as ones to qualify for student thesises. The head of the centre, Vladimir Avtonomov, emphasized the need to increase interest in the subjects of history and methodology of science, not only among undergraduate students, but also among masters.

 

The deputy head of the center, Denis Melnik, noted that it was crucial to focus on increasing the publication activity of employees. The start of work on publishing translations of classics of economic science on the basis of the HSE publishing house, preparing scientific articles for publication in leading Russian and foreign journals, and preparing a special issue of the Russian Journal of Economics was approved. The staff also discussed the participation in leading international conferences on the history of economic thought, such as the European Society for History of Economic Thought.
