HSE University has signed a cooperation agreement with Panamerican University (Universidad Panamericana, UP), a leading Mexican higher education institution. The document was signed at the initiative of HSE University-St Petersburg during the university's academic mission to Latin America.

In early November 2023, a delegation from HSE University visited the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen. HSE University representatives took part in CUHK-Shenzhen 2023 International Partner Day and discussed the existing student exchange agreement with colleagues from China.

The delegation of the East China Normal University has visited HSE University’s Moscow campus. The representatives of both academic institutions confirmed their mutual interest in developing cooperation. The East China Normal University was the first Chinese institution to cooperate with HSE University. This partnership has been developing for quite a while, with the first memorandum signed on June 30, 2011, followed by two agreements on student mobility.

HSE University is taking part in the Annual International Conference and Global Summit (AICGS-2023), which began in Phagwara, India, on October 30. This year’s topic of discussion was the new model of international cooperation in the field of sustainable development, as well as the prospects and global challenges faced by universities in the development of international ties today.

HSE University is this year’s leading Russian university in 11 subjects in the Shanghai Ranking. In seven of these, the university is the only Russian higher education institution to appear. This year, the university was ranked among the top universities for Communications for the first time and returned to the ranking for Sociology.

Studying at a foreign university has distinct advantages for one's career trajectory, alongside invaluable experience and an expanded array of opportunities. However, students may face considerable stress due to immersion in a different cultural setting and encounter new, sometimes unforeseen, challenges. The session 'Creating an International Environment as a Keystone to Cultivate Talent', hosted by HSE University as part of International Partners' Week, featured discussions by experts and representatives from top universities on how universities assist foreign students in adapting and discovering opportunities for self-actualisation.

On September 27, the 2023 Exchange Fair took place in the atrium of the HSE University building on Pokrovsky Bulvar as part of the annual International Partners’ Week. Representatives of the world’s leading universities told students about the opportunities available under academic mobility programmes.

The forum was held as part of HSE University’s International Partners' Week, which coincides with Russia’s chairship of the EAEU and is aimed at connecting the strategies and initiatives of its participants in the fields of education, science, and technology. The forum was attended by representatives from 23 countries and more than 40 scientific and educational organisations. HSE University’s Support and Career Centre for International Students and Alumni has held orientation sessions for incoming international students. During the meetings, the centre’s experts explained the visa and migration support available, talked about extracurricular student life, and gave tours of the campus and the city.
