First Readings of Marx's Capital in the Germanic World

Guillaume Fondu, a graduate student of University Rennes I made a presentation at the history of economic thought group meeting.

On Wednesday HSE visiting graduate student Guillaume Fondu spoke about his findings in the field of history of economic thought with the scholars from the Department of Theoretical Economics at Shabolovka. The title of his research is:  First Readings of Marx'sCapitalin the Germanic World.

Abstract: Debates about Marx's Capital are still intense, notably since the publication of Sraffa's formalisation of the ricardian theory of value forced marxists to make clear Marx's specificity. I'll try to use an older debate, between R. Luxemburg and W. Sombart, to throw light on some epistemological and political issues about this specificity.

Guillaume Fondu will spend the spring semester in Moscow working in the libraries and archives on the Soviet journals «Under the banner of marxism» and alike
