‘Football Brings People Together’: HSE University Holds Mini-Football Tournament for International Students
Six men’s teams and two women’s teams made up of international students from 30 countries took part in the first ever HSE Inter Football Cup. The event was organised by the Support and Career Centre for International Students and Alumni, the Department of Internationalisation, and the Department of Physical Training.

Why do international students at HSE University decide to pursue a career in academia? What fields in economics are relevant to PhD students? Richard Asiamah from Ghana and Alesya Bukreeva from Uzbekistan are current master’s students at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, but have already received scholarships from the faculty to continue their studies as doctoral students at the university. HSE Days Begin in Kazakhstan
A series of plenary sessions, master classes, and seminars is underway in the Kazakh capital as part of the HSE Days event at the Miras international school and Astana International University. ‘We Want to Make Sure that International Students Have Fulfilling Academic and Personal Lives’
The Council of the International Student Association (CISA) works to ensure that international students can live and study comfortably at HSE University and in Russia in general. At present, CISA consists of nine international students and its Chair. Its current activities include dealing with border closures, arranging vaccinations, and creating information channels for international students.
HSE University Holds Career Marathon
At the end of April, HSE University hosted a Career Marathon in both offline and online formats. Representatives from 42 companies and several thousand students from HSE and many other universities took part in the event. For two days, the marathon participants attended poster sessions in the Pokrovka atrium, along with master classes from event partners, an interactive photo zone, and prize and merchandise draws, as well as experiencing an open dialogue with experts, and express interviews for current vacancies and internships.
Comics Mission: The Evolution of Hand–Drawn Stories in Russia
‘Comics Mission. The Evolution of Drawn Stories in Russia’ is a large-scale event for fans of comics and graphic novels. Highlights include an exhibition, a festival and a laboratory dedicated to national comics. The exhibition in Zaryadye Park showcases an array of objects, ranging from early examples of cartoon stories from the 16th–early 20th centuries to the latest works by emerging artists in the 20th–21st centuries.
