I Work in a Great Team. I am Happy to be Here.

Apparently there is one thing that can make your study abroad experience even better. It is an internship. Tanya Grigorovich found one in Riga after her semester with SSE.

About me: I am a junior at the NES/HSE Undergraduate Program. This spring I went on student exchange program to Stockholm School of Economics in Riga. I love music and also love to analyze and systematize everything. I played violin when I was 5 to 15 years old, and studied math when I was 15 to 18. I was offered admission to the NES/HSE Undergraduate Program without test scores because I was the winner of the HSE competition for schoolchildren in math.

On the HSE/NES Undergraduate Program I chose different courses from social anthropology to game theory, from American film Industry course to graph theory. I love HSE/NES Undergraduate Program. After social anthropology course I got interested in what social constructs enframe my thoughts. I happily joined Erasmus in SSE Riga and went to another country to live in different social rules, to understand myself.

I learned a lot and found cool new friends in SSE Riga.

About SonarworksIts a start-‐up created by two graduates from SSE Riga Helmuts Bems and Martins Popelis 3 years ago. The company makes a plug-‐in for recording studio software. The plug-‐in calibrates headphones and speakers. The program is made for professional technics but not professionals use it too. It just makes all my favorite songs better than ever.

This is how they describe themselves: «Sonarworks is a recording studio software development company specializing in acoustic calibration and digital audio workstation plugins. Accurate sound is our passion. Based on research by EMMA award-‐winning audio engineer, Sonarworks patent-‐pending technology has been developed over the course of 3 years.»

How I got there:
I’ve got an email as SSE Riga student that Sonarworks may hire interns in analytics and marketing. I was very interested in this opportunity as long as it is about music, marketing and data analysis. They invited me on work interview and gave me a job offer two days later. I liked the company from the first glance. I went home to Moscow, made a visa with permission to work and came back to Riga.

Now I am learning a new program for data analysis, which is a very powerful tool and this knowledge will also benefit me in the future. I have been working in Sonarworks for 2 weeks and already accomplished cool tasks in analytics and marketing, which I am proud of. I work in a great team. I am happy to be here.
