SCF Program invites second year master students to pre-register at newly opened courses in Finance in the Fall semester 2016.
The course International Finance is taught by Madina Karamysheva, Ph.D. from Bocconi University. The course puts together up-to-date theories of international finance and real world applications. It will teach to understand international financial markets, foreign exchange markets and world capital markets, so that one can apply these knowledge to effective corporate decision making. Asset and liability management as well as international corporate governance and control knowledge will empower the course paritcipants with effective financial management fundamentals and skills. Lectures will be supplemented by the several research paper and case discussions, as well as a group project.
Another course, Fundamentals of Financial Investigations is devoted to crime and misconduct investigation and prevention in the sphere of corporate finance. Delivered by Delloitte pracitioners, it will empower students with advanced understanding of typical fraud schemes and cutting-edge data analysis techniques that can be used to identify illegal practices or unethical conduct and to mitigate associated risks. Students who take this course can expect to gain in-depth knowledge of common indicators and detection techniques associated with fraud, elements of fraud schemes, and the key fraud risk areas that can influence the opinions of individuals reviewing a given company’s financial statements. Students will also gain practical insights from some of the real cases Deloitte’s Forensic Team has investigated.
