HSE University faculty presented at the International Conference in Shanghai

HSE University faculty presented at the 5th International Conference “The World Economy in the Great Changes 2023”, sponsored by the School of Economics of Shanghai University

Deputy Vice Rector, Research Fellow at the Corporate Finance Center, Associate Professor at the School of Finance Anastasia N. Stepanova presented a report “Why are companies so different? Models of decision making in corporations.” Director of Economic Policy at the HSE University, Director of the Center for Structural Policy Research, Professor Yuri V. Simachev spoke on the topic: “New trends in the transformation of the global production system: what is the demand for industrial policy?” Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Liudmila  Zasimova made a presentation of her research paper: “Effects of the economic crises on health-related behaviors”

In addition to participating in the conference, the visit program included networking with colleagues from Shanghai University, tour at the Shanghai University campus,

meeting with HSE students currently studying at SHU on exchange program. Anastasia Stepanova and Liudmila Zasimova also met with the leadership of Shanghai University School of Economics and discussed possible forms of cooperation in the field of academic exchanges and research.

Nine HSE undergraduate and master students are currently studying for the first time at the School of Economics of Shanghai University during the fall semester 2023. The agreement on student exchanges between the ShU School of Economics and the National Research University Higher School of Economics was singed back in 2021, COVID restrictions for travel were lifted only in winter of 2023.

In the fall of 2022, the ShU School of Economics and the Faculty of Economic Sciences held the First Sino-Russian Economic Cooperation Workshop — "Economic Performance from Regional Aspects". Faculty of Ecobnomnic Sciences was represented  by the  Centre for Spatial Econometrics in Applied Macroeconomic Research.
