Strategic Corporate Finance Materials: (Students of other programs may also find them useful)

To be successful, think over your strengths and weaknesses as a future finance student. Below you will find a list of the typical courses of SCF program that many of our students find difficult. Do not focus on everything, but instead concentrate on your weaknesses and fill in the gaps.

Advanced Econometrics

If you already had a course of econometrics on bachelor level, no need to be disturbed. If you had only a course in probability theory of probability, it is worth refreshing your knowledge. If you had no courses in theory of probability or econometrics, you should spend some time preparing for the Advanced Econometrics course.

On Coursera, you can find the specialization titled Master Statistics with R by Duke University. You can choose the intro course or more advanced courses of specialization.

Corporate Finance

If you had no courses in Corporate Finance before, read Berk & DeMarzo book ‘Fundamentals of Corporate Finance’. It is a great idea to use one of their textbooks (either ‘Corporate Finance’ or ‘Fundamentals’) as your handbook. You may also take one of Corporate Finance (basic level) courses on Coursera

Besides, make sure you have good Excel skills. You will develop your skills during the courses of Financial Modelling and Valuation, but you should be able to use formulas, links, etc. Solve a couple of Berk & DeMarzo problems in Excel to be sure about your skills.
