The 2023 Admissions Campaign has started at HSE University. The range of available courses includes 89 bachelor’s and 182 master’s programmes across the university’s campuses in Moscow, St Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod, and Perm. Among them are 13 English-taught bachelor’s programmes and 40 English-taught master’s programmes in such fields as architecture, Asian studies, IT, arts, history, mathematics, politics, psychology, economics, management, physics, chemistry, biology, law, literature and many others.

Registration is now open for the international Study Tour Experience, which gives foreign master’s applicants an opportunity to spend two weeks living as HSE University students and choose a master’s programme for further study. The Study Tour Experience will take place from November 14–28 and is available both online and in-person. Russian- and English-taught tracks are available. Participants are selected based on motivation letters.

Registration is open! Winners in math are recommended for a full-tuition scholarships for 40+ HSE Univesrsity unergraduate programs. Free online contest, hosted by the National Research University Higher School of Economics, takes place in winter and the results will be know before spring

The application deadline for the English-language Master of Business Analytics programme has been extended until September 20th. Irina Ivashkovskaya, Professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Head of the School of Finance and Programme Academic Supervisor of the online Master of Business Analytics programme, spoke about why we should study current concepts and methods of business analysis in this era of new economic normality.

International students are beginning to arrive at HSE University for the new academic year. Among them are students from Indonesia. Some of them even had a chance to take their parents on a tour of the campus. How does one become an HSE University student? What do the university’s venues have to offer? What is it like to live in Moscow? The new arrivals shared their first impressions with the HSE News Service.

Throughout July, students of the HSE International Summer University are studying Russian History and Behavioural Economics. The courses are taking place in an online format—something that seemed unthinkable for a summer programme before the COVID-19 pandemic. Recent years have shown that online learning is a unique opportunity for students from all over the world to study with leading HSE University professors from the comfort of their own homes.

The team of the HSE International Preparatory Year said goodbye to its students at a graduation party that took place at the HSE Cultural Centre. 197 students from 58 countries graduated from the programme this year. They learned Russian and profile subjects in Russian, which has helped over 100 of them to enrol in degree programmes at HSE University.

Joseph Naquentera from Ghana recently completed the HSE University Master’s programme in Applied Economics and successfully defended his thesis on ‘Effect of the Ghana Poverty Reduction Strategy on Employment’ at the Faculty of Economic Sciences. He shared his impressions of studies in Moscow with the HSE News Service.
