Making a Home in HSE’s Cities

For foreign scholars who come to teach and conduct research at the Higher School of Economics, whether temporarily or on a permanent basis, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod all provide a variety of interesting opportunities to enjoy a quality life. We spoke with several international scholars who now make these cities home about their experiences and the advice they would share with others who may be considering a move.

Laureates of Golden HSE 2016

On December 20, 2016, the ZIL Cultural Centre hosted this year’s Golden HSE awards ceremony. This year saw several significant changes to the award rules: new nominations have appeared, many of them were divided into categories for different groups of employees — all to help ensure HSE was able to express its gratitude to a larger number of worthy candidates.

HEC Lausanne is HSE New Partner in Students Exchanges

Higher School of Economics and University of Lausanne just signed a LoI and student exchange agreement. This will allow economics and business and management students to study a semester in partner universities.

Visit of China Statisticians' Delegation to HSE

HSE Offers Traineeship Opportunities for International Doctoral Students

Doctoral schools provide an opportunity for international doctoral students to undertake part of their study or research at HSE. The university offers two types oftraineeships – research and study. The study stay involves taking courses from the HSE doctoral schools. This can be one, two, or more courses aimed at developing academic skills or at obtaining greater exposure to special core subjects.

Second-year student in the HSE/NES Programme in Economics, Maksim Vavulin, placed second in the FIDE World Youth Under 18 Chess Championship. The championship took place in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia from September 21st through October 5th
