In 2010, HSE University launched the Full-time Advanced Doctoral Programme, an innovative programme for doctoral students at that time. At the beginning of 2021, an alumna of the programme’s first cohort became the first programme graduate to earn her Doctor of Sciences degree: Elena Vakulenko, Assistant Professor at HSE University’s Faculty of Economic Sciences. The International Study Tour experience is currently accepting applications for February 2021. The programme is organized by the International Admissions team with the aim of giving international students an opportunity to get a glimpse of what studying at HSE University is like. Participants attend various classes in different fields of study. Last November, the programme was held online for the first time. The February round will also be held fully online, so students from all over the world can take part. Application deadline is February 8.

HSE students came up with the idea of building HSE University’s Pokrovka Complex in Minecraft at the very beginning of the lockdown. In May, the opening ceremony was held, where HSE Rector delivered his welcome address, followed by lectures and a concert. HSE University now has a full-fledged virtual campus that brings HSE community closer together. Project organizer Olesya Yakovleva told HSE News Service more about the project.
