On Wednesday, January 17 the all-Russian seminar "Mathematical methods of decision analysis in economics, finance and politics" was held. Professors Gorelov M.A. and Ereshko F.I. gave a lecture on «Blockchain techonology and control models in digital society»

From April 11 to 14, HSE is holding its XVIII April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. Conference Programme Committee members Fuad Alekserov and Andrei Yakovlev discuss the key themes and main reports that will be presented at the conference. This conference will draw around 2,000 people, including 200 international participants.

The only way to detect weaknesses in one’s own ideas is to expose them to criticism from colleagues, says Eric Maskin, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2007, Chairman of the HSE International Advisory Committee, and the head of the Department of Mathematics (Faculty of Economic Sciences), chief researcher at the International Laboratory of Decision Choice and Analysis. The HSE news service recently spoke with him and Fuad Aleskerov, head of the Laboratory, about the the value of other people's opinions, joint research projects and opportunities for international cooperation in our time.

On December 08 a research seminar on political economy took place at HSE.  Oxana Bondarenko  (CEFIR) spoke on 'The Effect of Movies on Pro-social Behavior'.

On November 24 a research seminar on political economy took place at HSE.  Vera E. Troeger (University of Warwick) spoke on 'The Politics of Strategic Budgeteering'.

On November 17 a research seminar on political economy took place at HSE. Kemal Kivanc Akoz (NYU Abu Dhabi) presented the report on 'Political Change Driven by a Dissident Elite: The Effect of Rents from Power and Information'.

On November 10 a research seminar on political economy took place at HSE. Shintaro Miura (Kanagawa University) presented the report on 'Manipulated News Model: Electoral Competition and Mass Media'.

Prof. Aleskerov, the Head of the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Economic Sciences gave a talk at the 6th Moscow Supercomputing Forum (MSCF 2015) that took place in Moscow on October 29-30, 2015
