‘Winter in Russia is a Season of Romance and Cold, Solemnity and Vitality’
Over 450 international students from all over the globe currently study at the HSE Faculty of Economic Sciences. Some of them have recorded video greetings, talked about celebrations in their home countries, and shared their ideas on how to spend the winter holidays in Russia.

Diksha Khosla came to HSE University-Moscow from the northern Indian state of Punjab. She currently studies on the Master’s in Strategic Corporate Finance at the Faculty of Economic Sciences. Diksha spoke to the HSE News Service about the challenges and opportunities available to international students in Russia, adjusting to the Moscow vibe, and her efforts to showcase and celebrate Indian culture at HSE University.

‘Creativity and Imagination Are Essential in Research’
Daria Morozova graduated from the HSE Faculty of Economic Sciences (FES) with a degree in Economics and Corporate Finance in 2016, then earned a Master's in Financial Markets and Institutions from HSE FES in 2018. She completed an internship at the Finance Department of Nike Inc., worked as a specialist at the Finance Department of Sovcombank in 2016–2017, and worked at Raiffeisenbank in 2017–2018. In 2018, she was hired to a senior manager position with Rosbank. She currently heads the Retail Business Analysis and Planning Office of the bank's Financial Management Department.
Online Campus of HSE University Sets New Admissions Record
HSE University has announced the results of its 2023/24 online admissions campaign. The university, which leads in CIS countries in terms of the number of online programmes (three bachelor’s and 18 master’s), has once again attracted the most students this year with a total of 1,750 admissions.
Faculty of Economic Sciences Holds Math BootCamps for Those Starting Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees
More than 200 future bachelor’s and master’s students from around the world spent the last two weeks of summer improving their mathematical knowledge and honing their problem-solving skills. The free online classes have been held for the fourth year in a row. They allow first-year students not only to succeed in their studies, research, and project activities at HSE University’s Faculty of Economic Sciences (FES), but also to quickly integrate into the international community of students, graduates, and teachers.
‘There Are Many Interesting Fields in Financial Analytics Today’
September 15 is the application deadline for HSE University’s English-taught online Master of Business Analytics programme. The programme trains a new kind of financial leader with an expanded range of competencies and skills. Modern challenges require professionals in this field to focus not only on money flows, but also on non-financial resources: intellectual, natural, social, and digital. Such resources set the tone of competition and determine the future of companies.

Gao Song from China, master student at HSE Financial Engineering Program, applied and was successfully admitted to study for a masters in Quantitative Economics and Finance at the University of Luxembourg during his second year of masters studies at HSE. Upon successful completion of both programs, he will be awarded a masters degree from both institutions. From the Fall 2023, Gao Song will start his PhD program as a Doctoral Researcher at the Parallel Computing and Optimization Group (PCOG) in the Computer Science Department at the University of Luxembourg
