Founded in 1992, the HSE Faculty of Economics is the university’s oldest faculty. In the years since it was founded, it has gained a reputation as Russia’s leader in terms of higher economic education.
A fundamental education in modern economic theory and mathematics is combined with the study of applied disciplines, such as taxation, budget policies and processes, financial management and other related fields.

We are very pleased to welcome Ilia Krasikov, Aleksei Smirnov, Jean-Francois Jabir and Arsenii Mishin!
Ilia Krasikov- is an MA graduate of New Economic School (NES). He pursued his PhD at Pennsylvania State University. Ilia's research interests are in the field of microeconomics, mechanism design, contract theory, information design, repeated games. Dr. Krasikov will be working as an Assistant Professor at the FES Department of Theoretical Economics.
Aleksei Smirnov- is an MA graduate of NES. He pursued his PhD at the University of Zurich. Dr.Smirnov's areas of specialization include applied microeconomic theory, particular models of strategic information transmission, Bayesian learning and reputation building. Aleksei will be joining the FES Department of Theoretical Economics.
Jean-Francois Jabir- got his MA and PhD degrees at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. His research interests include stochastic analysis, stochastic differential equations. Jean-Francois will be working as an Assistant Professor at the FES Department of Statistics and Data Analysis.
Arsenii Mishin- is an MA graduate of ICEF HSE. Dr.Mishin pursued his PhD at Georgetown University. His primary research fields are macroeconomics and financial economics. Arsenii will be joining the FES Department of Theoretical Economics.
