In its fifth year already, the HSE Summer University was officially opened on June 20th by Vice Rector, Ivan Prostakov. Over the next 8 weeks, HSE will provide almost 200 students, PhD candidates, postdocs and professionals from all around the world with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge in a wide range of fields. Many of the courses, all of which are taught in English, focus on areas such as politics, history, economics, and Russian and Eurasian cultures.

The Higher School of Economics ranked 38^th in the QS ranking of young universities, up from 48^th last year.

The Higher School of Economics has climbed to 32nd place in the Times Higher Education Emerging Economies Rankings, improving its previous position by 16 places.

The Higher School of Economics has been ranked 162^nd in a new ranking of the world’s most international universities compiled by Times Higher Education.

A group of 37 students from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology visited HSE’s Faculty of Economic Sciences in January 2018. The visit was part of a study trip to Russia organized by HKUST Global Business Program. The students visited Dobrolyubov Public Library, New Economic School, SKOLKOVO School of Management, as well as offices of Novartis Pharma, Yandex, and Moscow Stock Exchange. At HSE they met with Russian and international students who told them about the university and introduced them to Russian culture and traditions, dispelling some of the most popular myths about Russia.

According to research by Future Today, HSE’s Faculty of Economic Sciences is the most in-demand among employers. A further three HSE faculties were named in the top 10.

Higher School of Economics (HSE) has improved its position in the U.S. News Best Global Universities Ranking for Mathematics, joining the Top-150 universities in this area. In addition, HSE joined the U.S. News Best Global Universities and the Social Sciences and Public Health rankings for the first time ever.

On its 25^th anniversary, the Higher School of Economics (HSE) took 25^th place in the QS EECA (Emerging Europe & Central Asia) Ranking, thus improving its result by 10 positions as compared with last year. This ranking includes 300 positions and takes into account higher education institutions in transitional European and Central Asian countries.

The Higher School of Economics has entered the Times Higher Education rankings by subject in two categories, Business & Economics (101-125 group), and Social sciences (176-200 group), showing the best result among schools that participate in Project 5-100 in these areas.

From September 11-16, Giuseppe Arbia, Professor of Economic Statistics at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, visited the HSE Faculty of Economic Sciences in Moscow to deliver a series of lectures on Spatial Econometrics.
