At naval academy, Aleksandr Moshkov studied spherical trigonometry and built mathematical models of Earth’s surface. Now, the sea captain has dived into HSE University’s Economic Analysis programme. Aleksandr had the truly unique opportunity to study for the Master’s online without giving up his job at sea.

In the last two weeks of summer, the HSE University Faculty of Economic Sciences invites future bachelor’s and master’s students to prepare for their upcoming studies. More than 200 international and Russian applicants have signed up for online classes in mathematics, probability theory, and statistics. The classes also allow first-year students to advance their academic achievements, build a foundation for getting involved in the faculty’s research and project activity, and foster cooperation between Russian and foreign students.

The SuperJob jobhunting and recruitment service has published its 2022 ranking of Russian universities by salary. The results are based on a sample of early-career professionals from the 2016–2021 graduating classes and who are now working in economics and finance. HSE University took second place.

HSE University alumna Dr. Elena Podkolzina recently became an academic supervisor of the newly established master's programme in Economics and Economic Policy. The 4^th International Economics Olympiad (IEO) has come to a close after taking place online in Latvia from July 21 to 1 August. The competition was organized by HSE University and the University of Latvia.

On 9^th June 2021 two famous successful regulators, namely International Integrated reporting Counsil (London) and SASB (USA) have merged and established Value Reporting Foundation

International students from all over the world can enroll in HSE University’s summer programme, choosing from a wide range of courses that will be delivered via Zoom from June 20 till August 20, 2021. This year, Summer University is offering new courses, tuition fee discounts, and networking opportunities. Application deadline is May 20, 2021.

In 2010, HSE University launched the Full-time Advanced Doctoral Programme, an innovative programme for doctoral students at that time. At the beginning of 2021, an alumna of the programme’s first cohort became the first programme graduate to earn her Doctor of Sciences degree: Elena Vakulenko, Assistant Professor at HSE University’s Faculty of Economic Sciences.
