Informal closing ceremony of the Summer School Challenges for Emerging Economy II was held at the Armenian State University of Economics

Coming from Lebanon but with personal ties to Russia, Hisham Haydar will be starting the second year of the Master’s in Economics: Research Programme this September. The strength of HSE University’s standing in international rankings led Hisham to choose HSE in Moscow for his advanced training in economics. In the hope that other international students will be motivated to apply to HSE, he recently shared his perspective on everything from the application process to the workload to life in Moscow.

On a Monday evening at a stylish jazz club in Moscow, there was a Russian-American music collaboration, a rare scene amid tensions between the two countries. The sole U.S. performer at this July 8 jazz concert was Michelle Daniel, an intern at the International Office, the HSE Faculty of Economic Sciences. She is staying in Moscow for almost three months, with the ambitious goal of helping to improve Russian-American relations.

Muddassar Malik, who is pursuing a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Turku, Finland, will finish his Doctoral Research Traineeship at the HSE School of Finance in August 2019. HSE News Service spoke with Muddassar about his experiences in Moscow so far.
