The Faculty of Economic Sciences is the largest faculty at HSE University and the very foundation from which the university's history began in 1992. Today, it is the premier educational and research division at HSE. The faculty combines the organisational and financial capacity of key educational and research centres, the intellectual capital and expertise of top-tier academic teams, and the unique, long-standing partnerships it has cultivated with leading global universities and market-leading employers both in Russia and abroad.
The Journal of Corporate Finance Research has confirmed its status as a third-quartile (Q3) journal in the international Scopus database in the Economics, Econometrics and Finance (miscellaneous) subject area.
Forbes Education has published its ranking of the top 20 Russian universities with the strongest reputations among employers. As in recent years, HSE University secured first place with a reputation index of 98 points. In addition, 67.2% of employers stated that they trust the quality of education provided by HSE University, an increase of three percentage points compared with last year.
Eric Maskin, an American economist and recipient of the 2007 Nobel Prize in Economics, gave a talk at HSE University in which he shared his views on the shortcomings of the proportional representation system and outlined his proposals for reform.
The fourth off-site school organised under the Lyceum Classes project has taken place with the support of HSE University and implemented by the HSE Department of Internationalisation. This year, 79 students from International House Tashkent and Interhouse Lyceum came to HSE. The programme includes an introduction to the university, the opportunity to attend classes, and tours around Moscow.
The international ranking SCImago Journal & Country Rank (SJR) has released its 2025 data. The Journal of Corporate Finance Research continues to show positive dynamics.
The conference programme covers five research topics: economics; human capital and society; instrumental methods and models; foresight research; and international research. Hundreds of scientists from around the world will take part in the conference.
