Golden HSE Laureates Announced

On December 20, 2016, the ZIL Cultural Centre hosted this year’s Golden HSE awards ceremony. This year saw several significant changes to the award rules: new nominations have appeared, many of them were divided into categories for different groups of employees — all to help ensure HSE was able to express its gratitude to a larger number of worthy candidates.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Maksim Oreshkin as the country’s new Minister of Economic Development. Oreshkin is the former Deputy Minister of Finance and a graduate of the Higher School of Economics.

Registration Opens for Optional Courses Starting in Second Half of 2016/17 Academic Year

From December 1 to 20, registration will be held for HSE’s Open Optional Courses, slated to start in the second half of the 2016/2017 academic year. Per tradition, these courses will be free of charge and open not only to HSE students, but also anybody interested in expanding their knowledge.

Visit of China Statisticians' Delegation to HSE

On November 15, 2016, the Faculty of Economic Sciences at HSE received a delegation from China's National Bureau of Statistics. At the business meeting, HSE was represented by professors from the  Department of Statistics and Data Analysis: the head of department, V.S.
